Old Dogs, New Tricks

Gentle Harmonies infuse originals and covers from husband-and-husband duo Mark Davis and Jim Howe

Formerly of Hastings, currently of Yonkers, husband-and-husband duo Mark Davis and Jim Howe have been singing together for years and have more recently been writing and performing their own songs. With Mark on acoustic guitar and Jim on cello, the two trade off lead and harmony vocals. They have worked with vocal and guitar coach Adam Hart and have studied songwriting with the iconic Dar Williams. Their songs ask what it means to be human and how, in the words of the poet Mary Oliver, we can make the most of our “one wild and precious life.” Forming Old Dogs New Tricks is one answer they came up with for themselves.

Performance: 1:00 PM, Purpl, Hastings-on-Hudson
